Anonymous Hacks Warner Music’s Website in Argentina

Activist network Anonymous hacked Warner Music’s Argentine website Wednesday as a protest against the local government’s decision to block access to The Pirate Bay website Monday. The action was announced through Anonymous’ twitter account @YourAnoNews, which stated: “Warner Argentina hacked to protest the blocking of Pirate Bay: warnermusic.com.ar Don’t censor TPB if you ain’t ready for that pain!” Warner Music Argentina’s website is currently showing content from Warner’s Chilean subsidiary.

Last Monday, Argentina’s National Communications Commission ordered local Internet providers to block IP addresses operated by The Pirate Bay. The commission’s resolution originated in a judicial order by the court in which a civil action was presented against TPB by Argentine Chamber of Phonogram Producers

Yesterday, CAPIF’s website was also hacked in revenge and turned into a TPB proxy to reroute traffic directly to The Pirate Bay’s website. At the same time, a domain called “chupalacapif.com” (“suckonitcapif.com”) was also created to host TPB’s home.

The Pirate Bay has already been blocked in more than a dozen European countries, including the UK, Denmark and Norway.
