Music industry executives new moves
It has been a fairly active and as always interesting two months in the music industry world on several fronts. Just a few industry news items since our last newsletter we wanted to make sure you hadn’t missed! The most significant news, of course, was the announcement of Apple’s purchase of Beats and the executive shuffle that follows. John Janick has been named the new Chairman and CEO of Interscope Geffen A&M succeeding Jimmy Iovine. Beats founder Jimmy Iovine and producer Dr. Dre are joining Apple in executive positions yet to be announced. Alex Sancaya is the new Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment, Indonesia. Oscar Mazzola is the new Sr. Director of Film, TV and Advertising at Music Sales Corporation / G. Schirmer and TuneCore has announced that Scott Ackerman is their new CEO. Taryn Haight is the new Director of Dance Marketing and Artist Relations at Warner Bros. Records and Dennis Blair returns to RCA Records as SVP Promotion. Streamsound Records has hired Teddi Bonadies as VP National Promotion and Strategic Marketing and UK Producer Skream (Oliver Jones) is launching a new label, Of Unsound Mind.
