A Drummers Perspective Author Launches Kickstarter Project For Second Book
David Phillips, author of the critically acclaimed A Drummers Perspective is now very close to finishing his second coffee table book and has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to be able to publish it. Called From The Riser, A Drummers Perspective II the book has been three years in the making, features more drummers, more pages and even better pictures than the first one. It celebrates the world of drumming by taking you behind the scenes, showing you drummers doing what they do best, playing live!
His Kickstarter project has just thirty days to raise the funds needed to publish From The Riser: A Drummers Perspective II. There are lots of great ways you can be part of this project and even in the book! If the funding target (£12,000) is not raised before 8th March 2014, all pledges will be cancelled and the publishing of the book will be severely delayed.
Already the author has photographed a hundred and seven drummers including Stewart Copeland, Lars Ulrich, Taylor Hawkins, Travis Barker, Tommy Lee, Billy Cobham, Ian Paice, Ginger Baker, Clem Burke, John Blackwell, Kenny Aronoff, Zigaboo Modeliste, Jack DeJonette, Jojo Mayer, Alex Acuňa, Dave Weckl, Sheila E and Neil Peart who has also written the book foreword. The new photos get you up close to the drumming action at some of the most amazing rock concerts and festivals.
David said Many of the musicians I have worked with over the years are now using Kickstarter to raise funds for their music projects. When I looked into it I realised this was a great way to speed up getting my second book to market and sharing all these wonderful photographs with a wider audience. By using Kickstarter I can spread the word quickly online to people worldwide whilst also keeping them updated on the projects status.
The money raised will help bring this project to its conclusion. It will help pay for the design, production and printing costs as well as the redesign of the book website, shipping and storage. If the project is successfully funded, David expects the book to be delivered late spring 2014.
