Rod Stewart, Santana unite for summer tour

Rod Stewart and Santana, two of the rock era’s biggest hitmakers, are joining forces for an 18-city summer tour dubbed The Voice, The Guitar, The Songs. It kicks off May 23 in Albany, N.Y., and tickets go on sale March 7 at 10 a.m. local time.

American Express card members can buy tickets for the Rosemont, Ill., show starting at 10 a.m. CT Monday through 10 p.m. CT March 6. In other markets the presale window for Amex customers is 10 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m. March 6, local time. Citi card members have early access to the Wantagh concert starting at 10 a.m. March 4 through Citi’s Private Pass Program.

The double bill teams two of rock history’s commercial titans. In a career spanning five decades, Stewart has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. Last May, he released Time, his first rock album in a dozen years. It followed a successful series of standards collections.

Santana, led by ace guitarist Carlos Santana, has sold more than 100 million records and performed for more than 100 millions fans at concerts across the globe. Santana won a record-tying nine Grammys, including album of the year, for 1999’s Supernatural.
