Popular TV mini-series propels INXS to top of Aria albums chart

Renewed interest in the Aussie rockers has seen two albums shoot back into the top 10. Two albums by INXS have taken top 10 spots in the Aria albums chart this week, with the Australian rockers’ The Very Best collection rising to No 1. The album jumped three spots to take the top spot following the airing last Sunday of the first part of Seven Network’s INXS mini-series Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story.

The series, which takes a close behind-the-scenes look at the band, drew 1.947 million viewers – the largest free-to-air audience that night. The renewed interest in the band has also propelled their 1987 album Kick into the top 10, grabbing seventh place. The John Butler Trio, set to tour Australia in March and April, debuted at No 2 with their new album Flesh & Blood
