Axl Rose speculates that Flea used ‘microchip technology in his ass’ at RHCP Super Bowl show

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has speculated that Red Hot Chili Peppers used bizarre new technology to send electronic signals from their instruments in the absence of traditional wires or wireless transmitters at their Super Bowl performance.  Before bassist Flea confirmed in a message to fans that the bass, drums and guitar were not amplified or plugged in at Sunday’s much-viewed show, the Guns N’ Roses singer weighed in with some theories on how the Red Hot Chili Peppers may have been playing live after all in a lighthearted comment for Billboard and Hollywood Reporter.
Rose’s main theory is that Flea employed a “newly invented breakthrough in microchip technology installed in his ass that picked up the frequencies of his bass and transmitted them to his amplifier”.

He writes: “Maybe they all had microchips installed in their asses and not only pick up the frequencies of their instruments but get Direct TV and the internet too! Like Google Glass… Google Ass! They could be “Scientific Pioneers!” Like Buzz Aldrin and shit! True (pardon the pun) ASS-tro-nots! Or like Superbowl crash test dummies for bands kinda like those cars that drive themselves!”

He speculates that the band “may have set a new world record for the largest karaoke audience ever” before signing off with “God Bless America, the Peppers n’ technology”.
