JIZZY PEARL – The Crucified Discussion
1. Which is the current line up of Jizzy Pearl’s Love/Hate and which is the status of your relationship with the previous members of the band?
THE CURRENT LINE-UP IS ME, DRUMMER MATT STARR AND TWO GUYS FROM LAS VEGAS CHRIS BRADY AND MICHALE ELLIS–MY RELATIONSHIP STATUS WITH THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS?…NONE REALLY.
2. Why did you decide to call your album “Crucified”?
I WROTE A SONG ABOUT ME HANGING OFF THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN IN 1992 CALLED ‘HANGING YOU OUT TO DRY’, I HAD THE ARTWORK THAT A FAN SENT ME AND I PUT THOSE TWO TOGETHER.
3. What was the main reason that made you come back under the name of Jizzy Pearl and record this album?
BECAUSE I DON’T WANT TO DEAL WITH EX-MEMBERS OF LOVE/HATE ANYMORE
4. Could you describe us the process of composing the songs and the recording of this album?
MUSIC FIRST, THEN LYRICS. I RECORDED THE RECORD IN LAS VEGAS WITH AN ENGINEER AND ADDED OTHER PLAYERS AS NEEDED.
5. Are you going to tour for the “Crucified” album?
NO–JUST THIS LAST LOVE/HATE TOUR IN MARCH.
6. Do you remember when you staged a crucifiction on the Y of the Hollywood sign as part of a video that Love/Hate were making?
OF COURSE–
7. You have been through hard times with labels dropping the band, drug issues and more. What was the thing that kept you working in the music industry?
FOR THE RECORD I NEVER HAD DRUG ISSUES–JUST GOING BROKE ISSUES. THE THING THAT KEEPS YOU GOING IS STUBBORN PERSERVERENCE.
8. How do you feels as a part of the Quiet Riot family?
FEELS VERY GOOD
9. Las Vegas or Los Angeles, where is the party scene at the moment?
I’M NOT INTO THE ‘PARTY SCENE’–I DID ENOUGH OF THAT IN MY 20’S
