Metallica’s Kirk Hammett: ‘I wonder if we influenced EDM’

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett ponders whether his band have influenced EDM DJs and the current US dance music scene.

The band band tell NME about the state of music today, the artists which are blowing their minds and when they’ll be come back to the UK.

Talking about EDM, Hammett says: “I’m wondering if our music had an influence on that because at one point Metallica was the fastest band in the land. In EDM the beats are really fast and I wonder if people have been influenced by us, the people making the dance music.”
