New Full-Length Album Oceans From Utah-Based Ambient/Progressive Rock Act Dizzybloom Earmarked To Drop On June 11th Of This Year

Wolf River Music, an independent label out of Provo, Utah, announced today they will be releasing a brand new album from their emerging artist dizzybloom .

It’s been a long time coming for this eclectic rock act now based in Utah. From their early beginnings in Austin, Texas, back in 1995 and their debut self-titled full length album, dizzybloom’s style and sound has evolved from simple rock/powerpop into a more innovative blend of progressive/ambient rock that can only be described as their very own original sound.

In 2010, after an eleven-year hiatus, dizzybloom reunited at Congress House Studios in Austin to record a new five-song EP. Heroes for Ghosts, a unique blend of old-school hard rock, lush ambience and progressive rock was born and the record was released in June of 2011.

Now in 2013, dizzybloom is back again with their latest album Oceans which features the powerful and emotional lead vocals from NBC’s “The Voice” contestant Amy Whitcomb. The record highlights the talents of guitarist/bassist/producer Billy R. Preston, the brilliant piano work of Juliet Gamero and the smooth, yet searing lead guitar of Steven Oakes. Bogie Bowle’s solid rhythm on drums helps to hold it all together and drive it along.

The album also includes four remixed versions of some of dizzybloom’s oldest material featuring original vocalist and songwriter Stacey Evans. Other guest musicians from Austin include Wiley Koepp on drums and Courtney Audain on bass.
dizzybloom’s sound is difficult to categorize.

The classic hard rock sound is still there on this new recording and can easily be detected on their cover version of “See Me Feel Me” by The Who. In a serious and unexpected change of pace the band delivers the soft and gentle “Dolores” complete with Latin percussion and Flamenco-styled acoustic guitars. Whitcomb’s vocals soar with energetic performance levels on “See Me Feel Me” and “Oceans” then come back down to earth with grace and maturity on the smoky ballad “Dolores” and an acoustic version of “Lost Memories”.

The sound and style of dizzybloom is totally contagious. It rocks the soul and uplifts the spirit within the listener. You can count on craving more after the first listen.

The new album Oceans is earmarked for release on June 11th, 2013 and will be available on CD at CD Baby, and digital download from iTunes and other popular digital music distribution outlets. To learn more about dizzybloom and follow this epic artist, visit their website at www.dizzybloom.com
