Jimmy Kimmel Live! And Myspace Scheduled To Launch Concert Series: Jimmy Kimmel Live Stream To Audiences Everywhere
Late night powerhouse Jimmy Kimmel Live! and the recently launched Myspace collide to bring fans an eclectic mix of live musical performances with the Jimmy Kimmel Live Stream concert series. Part of a yearlong initiative, Myspace and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will extend the reach of each performance beyond the stage and even beyond the broadcast by giving online viewers a front-row seat to the shows. Beginning June 18, select artists on Jimmy Kimmel Live! will perform an extended set in front of fans at the show’s Hollywood Blvd Studio. Starting June 18, directly following the televised broadcast, each concert in the series will be livestreamed in HD on Myspace, giving fans unable to get to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! concert backlot a chance to see their favorite bands live both on Myspace and on ABC.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live! has a rich, eleven-season history of broadcasting innovative music performances by today’s top artists. With the newly launched Myspace as a collaborative partner, we’re looking forward to broadening the scope of what we can offer to an even broader audience,” said Scott Igoe, Jimmy Kimmel Live! music producer and booker.
“As the go-to destination for the best music on late night, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has a great track record of recognizing new and emerging talent,” said Christian Parkes, vice president of global marketing at Myspace. “Now that the new Myspace has launched to empower artists and promote discovery, we’re joining forces to extend the reach of these incredible performances across broadcast and digital channels to reach an even bigger audience.”
As part of its Music First campaign, Bud Light is the exclusive sponsor of the three concerts during summer, kicking off the first show on June 18 when Empire of the Sun takes the stage to perform songs from their first album in nearly five years, Ice On The Dune. Wherever they are, fans can go to a dedicated Jimmy Kimmel Live! hub at https://myspace.com/jimmykimmellive to watch the concert live. The entire performance series will be archived and available on Myspace for later viewing as well.
Empire of the Sun will be the first artist featured in the series, also marking the Australian duo’s US television debut as their first album in almost five years, Ice On The Dune, hits stores. The critically acclaimed band is hitting the road this summer with a limited number of shows, and Myspace and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be one of the first places fans can catch the group perform live since 2009. Myspace is also featuring an interview with Luke Steele who discusses the latest album and the band’s major influences. In the interview, Luke reveals the band’s approach to writing great pop songs and how they’re dealing with fame.
The band will also perform as part of the Bud Light Music First “50/50/1” concert event on August 1, a never-before-seen live music event that will see Bud Light present one concert in each of the 50 states on a single day. Details for 50/50/1 are available on the interactive Bud Light Music First Myspace hub: https://myspace.com/budlightmusicfirst.
