The Fall “Re-Mit”

RE-MIT is The Fall’s second album for Cherry Red. Comprising 12-tracks, it features all the trademarks of a great Fall release and will be issued on CD and vinyl LP formats and preceded by a 7″ single for Record Store Day. The Fall will play a series of live dates in the UK throughout May. The current Fall line-up is as follows: Peter Greenway (lead guitar), Keiron Melling (drums), Elena Poulou (keyboards, vocals), Mark E. Smith (vocals) and David Spurr (bass).
The Fall is noted for its prolific output: RE-MIT will be their 30th studio album, and they have released more than triple that, counting live albums and other compilations. They were long-associated with the late BBC disc jockey John Peel, who championed them from early on in their career and cited The Fall as his favourite band, famously explaining, “They are always different; they are always the same.”

The Fall formed in Manchester in 1976 and has existed ever since. Essentially built around its founder and only constant member, Mark E. Smith. the group’s music has gone through several stylistic changes over the years, but is often characterised by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, always underpinned by Smith’s distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics.
