Audio Fidelity Releases Scorpions And Elton John Classics On 24kt Gold CDs
Marshall Blonstein’s Audio Fidelity has had a very busy year. We are already into the second quarter of 2013 and the new releases just keep coming. Most recently two rock releases have been added to their massive library of classic recordings.
Elton John’s Rock of the Westies and the Scorpions Virgin Killer make their debuts on their line of 24 karat gold remasters series. Both releases were highpoints in tremendously fruitful careers. Elton John at the time decided to switch his band up to find a different sound and they succeeded in recording one of the more rocking albums in the legend’s back catalog. The Scorpions were also one of the most consistent and reliable sources of good music over several decades and with Virgin Killer they provided their audience with more high energy metal. On this outing a lead guitar player by the name of Uli Jon Roth peeled off Hendrix inspired licks and contributed lead vocals on two tracks.
Elton John offered the now classic single “Island Girl” and the decidedly prolific “I Feel Like a Bullet (In the Gun of Robert Ford)” while the Scorpions offered up the title track “Virgin Killer” and “Pictured Life” for some tastes of bone crunching metal. Each artist was on the opposite spectrum of the music universe however they had a few things in common, like a recognizable unique sound that was all their own and several classic recordings under their belt.
Whether you are familiar with the two releases or not these 24 karat gold editions come and go very fast. Music collectors and those that appreciate classic rock and metal will be very pleased to hear how good the music sounds now on the remasters. Every time Audio Fidelity releases a new 24 karat gold CD it is an event that is highly anticipated by the music community. These two fine releases are no exception.
Rock of the Westies and Virgin Killer can be purchased directly from the Audio Fidelity website where music lovers can find many other releases available.
