Capitol Music Group Names New Head of International

Robbie McIntosh is appointed executive vice president and will relocate from London to Los Angeles.

Capitol Music Group’s hiring spree continues with the appointment of Robbie McIntosh as executive vice president, International.

McIntosh, a 20-year industry veteran, will report to CMG chairman and CEO Steve Barnett. He’ll be relocating from London to Los Angeles and will be based out of the Capitol Tower in Hollywood.

In his new position, McIntosh will work closely with CMG label heads and artists in conceiving and implementing global marketing campaigns and in tandem with Universal Music Group’s international territories (UMG acquired EMI holdings including Capitol in 2012).

Said Barnett in an April 15 announcement: “I’ve had the great pleasure of working with Robbie for many years, and his well-rounded experience, acumen and demeanor make him the ideal person to head International for the Capitol Music Group and serve as a senior executive at the company.”

Previously, McIntosh owned and ran RMC International, whose clients included AC/DC, Peter Gabriel, Sade and Gossip, and served as a longtime executive at Sony Music where he worked with such artists as Celine Dion, George Michael, Annie Lennox, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Ozzy Osbourne, among others.
