Ragdoll to launch new mini album through Pledge Music
Australian rock outfit, Ragdoll are set to release their hotly anticipated third record, ‘All I
Want’ in May through the Pledge Music platform ahead of their second US Tour which will
see them return to Rocklahoma and join other Australian acts as part of the inaugural
‘Aussie Rock Invasion Tour’.
Ragdoll’s first two releases ‘Ragdoll Rock’ (2011) and ‘Here Today’ (2012) garnered
considerable international attention from the music press and the band is hoping that the
same winning formula will bare further fruit for their distinctive style which blends melodic,
classic and hard rock into something new for the 21st century.
All I Want will contain five to eight new tracks written over the past year. “We’re saying five to
eight tracks for this new record as it all depends on how much we have to spend on the
recording and mastering process” says drummer Cam Barrett. “Our previous releases
contained four and five tracks respectively, but we’ve got eight tracks ready to go this time,
which is why we’re calling this one a mini album”.
Through the Pledge Music crowd funding platform, Ragdoll are hoping to raise around $6000
(AUD) to cover the cost of recording and mastering the new material. Pledge Music is a
crowd funding platform that offers fans the opportunity to show their support for their
favourite musicians by pledging money to a specific music project in return for exclusive
material.
“We’ve put our heads together and come up with some great exclusives for our fans”, says
Barrett. “We have our own hot sauce, limited edition copies of the new record including vinyl,
the opportunity to have your name added to the liner notes, studio and concert experiences,
the list goes on”. Fans can pledge as little as $10 and receive a digital download of the new
record, once completed, and updates on the project’s progress. Ragdoll have also begun
filming the video for the record’s title track, All I Want, so stay tuned for its official launch in
May.
