Eagles Announce ‘History’ Tour: 11 Summer Dates

The Eagles have announced 11 arena dates in support of the band’s “History of the Eagles” documentary, beginning July 6 in Louisville, Ky., and running until July 25 in Bethel Woods, NY.  The Eagles will play Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Cleveland, Ohio; Toronto, Ontario; Ottawa, Ontario; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Uncasville, Connecticut; Boston, Massachusetts; Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Bethel.

Tickets go on sale beginning Thursday, March 28, with an Amex presale March 23. More info will be posted on  www.eaglesband.com for tour and ticketing updates.

“History of the Eagles” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and made its broadcast debut on Showtime last month. The roc doc will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 30 as a three-disc set that includes History of the Eagles Part One and History of the Eagles Part Two, as well as Eagles Live At The Capital Centre – March 1977, from the band’s two-night stand at Washington, D.C.’s Capital Center during the Hotel California tour. Preorders are available now through Amazon.com and the Eagles website, www.eaglesband.com as well as through Ticketmaster when purchasing the DVD/tickets bundle.

The Eagles have been one of the most consistent touring bands in the world since re-uniting for the Hell Freezes Over tour in 1994 after a 14-year hiatus. The Hell Freezes Over tour of 1994-96 is still the 16th highest-grossing tour in history, and heralded a new era in ticket pricing for elite touring acts, notably cracking the $100 ceiling for rock bands, selling out every date and moving 3.4 million tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore. Since 2001, the Eagles have grossed $454,620,162 at the box office, with attendance of nearly 4 million fans to 304 shows reported to Boxscore

The Eagles, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, are managed by Irving Azoff and booked by Jeffrey Azoff at CAA.
