Warner/Chappell Music Extends Worldwide Co-Publishing Partnership With This Music


Warner/Chappell Music-the global music publishing arm of Warner Music Group Corp.-today announced that it has extended its worldwide co-publishing partnership with leading Nashville-based music publishing company, THiS Music. Under the agreement, Warner/Chappell will continue to publish and administer THiS Music’s repertoire. THiS Music was formed in 2006 by General Manager Rusty Gaston and songwriters Tim Nichols and Connie Harrington, and launched in partnership with Warner/Chappell Music.

“THiS Music is a renowned Nashville brand known for top shelf hit songs, and extraordinary songwriters who are helped to achieve their best by Rusty and his team,” said Ben Vaughn, Executive Vice President, Warner/Chappell Music Nashville. “On behalf of everyone at Warner/Chappell Music, it is with great pleasure that we announce the continuation of our partnership with Rusty, Tim and Connie.”

THiS Music has a roster of some of today’s brightest artists and songwriters, one of which is THiS Music co-founder Tim Nichols, who wrote Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying,” The single stayed at No. 1 for ten consecutive weeks and won the Grammy award for Best Country Song in 2005, as well as the Song of the Year award from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, BMI Country Awards, ASCAP Country Awards, Billboard and the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Other artists to record Nichols’ songs include Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Keith Whitley, Brad Paisley, Lee Ann Womack, Patty Loveless, Gretchen Wilson, Joe Nichols, Phil Vassar, Clint Black, and Kenny Rogers. Ben Hayslip, another staff writer for THiS Music and Warner/Chappell Music, has seen his songs recorded by acts such as Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Rodney Adkins, Joe Nichols, Justin Moore and Willie Nelson, among others. He was twice-named ASCAP’s “Country Songwriter of the Year,” and has six No. 1 singles to his name: Joe Nichols’ “Gimmie That Girl”, Josh Turner’s “All Over Me,” Blake Shelton’s “All About Tonight” and “Honey Bee,” Luke Byran’s “I Don’t Want This Night to End,” and Jason Aldean’s “Only Way I Know.”

Additional songwriters on THiS Music’s roster include Connie Harrington, Marv Green (winner of the BMI Song Of The Year, BMI Songwriter Of The Year and ACM Song Of The Year Awards); Deric Ruttan (who has written for Dierks Bentley, Aaron Pritchett and Eric Church, among others); Troy Olsen (who has had songs recorded by Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Chris Young, Patty Loveless and Kid Rock, among others); singer-songwriter and member of Sparrow Records Christian duo City Harbor, Molly Reed; Jeff Outlaw; and up and coming talent Michael Thomas & Drew Baldridge.
