Ozzy Osbourne will perform for the the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center
The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center announced that Rock Legend Ozzy Osborne (Black Sabbath, “The Osbourne’s”), Grammy-nominated Natasha Bedingfield (“Pocketful of Sunshine,” “Unwritten”) and singer/songwriter Sia (“Titanium”) will perform at this year’s An Evening with Women on May 18 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Two-time Emmy winner and five-time Grammy nominee Kathy Griffin will host the night’s festivities.
The evening will be nonstop entertainment with a cocktail reception, dinner, auction and performances from some of the biggest names in the music industry. An Evening with Women is one of the premiere LGBT events in Los Angeles, shining a spotlight on lesbians and bisexual women and their allies. Proceeds from the evening support the Center’s vital life-saving services and enrichment programs for women and girls.
“With each year, An Evening with Women grows bigger, stronger and more explosive. Everyone at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center works so hard to make this event a huge success,” says singer/songwriter/co-chair and Producer of the evening Linda Perry. “I had a vision to turn this into a night that you would always remember, an event you put on your calendar way in advance because you wouldn’t dare miss it. Giving people a night of excited, great entertainment and a beautiful energy that fills the room. There is no denying that this is exactly what we have created. This year Natasha Bedingfield, Sia and Ozzy Osbourne have so generously committed to perform and Kathy Griffin graciously offered to host. I’m blown away we are off to a great start.”
With the help of co-chairs Annie Goto, Kelly Lynch, Shannon Del and Brent Bolthouse, last year’s benefit raised more than $450,000 for the Center, which provides food and shelter for homeless youth, services for seniors, legal assistance, domestic violence services, health and mental health services and cultural arts programs.
“It is so important to me to lend support to local organizations that positively impact the lives within their community,” Bedingfield says. “This event is going to be spectacular. Linda Perry is an incredible person as well as a musical genius, and I am so honoured she asked to be involved. My friend Sia is one of the best performers ever. I’m so excited for us all to get in the same room together surrounded by a crowd of wonderful and inspiring people.”
Kathy Griffin added: “I’m so honored to be hosting this year’s An Evening with Women. It’s a fantastic cause for the LGBT community and it’s so rare Ozzy Osbourne and I get to have our lesbian time together, so that will be nice.”
The night begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and mingling, followed by dinner in the International Ballroom. The show is set to begin at 8 p.m. with a live auction and performances. A silent auction will also be taking place with hundreds of amazing items ranging from celebrity memorabilia to spa packages to bid on. Tickets to An Evening with Women start at $300.
