Frank Briegmann appointed President of Central Europe at Universal

Universal has announced that Frank Briegmann has been appointed president of Central Europe and will become chairman and CEO of Universal Music Germany.

In addition, to managing Switzerland, Austria and Deutsche Grammophon Breigmann’s role will expand further to cover Eastern Europe and the Nordic countries. He will also join UMGI’s International Management Board.

“I‘ve worked closely with Frank for many years and he shows calm authority and cool judgement in everything he undertakes,” said Hole. “He combines business acumen with an instinctive understanding of artists and their ambitions, and will bring new energy and focus to all of the countries in his region.”

Briegmann added: “I want to thank Max Hole and Lucian Grainge for their continued trust and support.  I’m looking forward to my new responsibilities and to developing an even closer cooperation with my colleagues in Northern and Eastern Europe, particularly with our fantastic artists who are at the heart of everything we do.”
