Fleetwood Mac announces 13 new US tour dates following ‘overwhelming demand’
Thirteen dates have been added to Fleetwood Mac’s tour due to ‘overwhelming fan reaction’.
That’s according to a statement released by Live Nation released earlier today (January 24) which also confirmed that the tour has already sold over 325,000 tickets, and that additional shows will be added to both existing venues and new ones.
Fleetwood Mac announced the first US dates of their 2013 reunion in December.
Then, the band confirmed 34 US shows to take place from April to June, including a date at New York’s Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl. It will now run through to July 6.
Speaking to Rolling Stone at the time, Stevie Nicks said that if there was demand, some Europe festivals this summer could also be on the cards, followed by a European tour and a possible 15 shows in Australia.
She also hinted at new music, noting two new songs she had recently created with guitarist Lindsey Buckingham.
The multi-Grammy winning group last toured in 2009 with the sold-out Unleashed Tour. The current line-up includes Mick Fleetwood and John McVie – both original members since l967, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks who joined the band in l975.
In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the release of the iconic Rumours album and in conjunction with their Fleetwood Mac Live 2013 tour, Fleetwood Mac are reissuing an expanded and deluxe version of Rumours on Rhino Records January 29.
