New MySpace opens to the public

MySpace has ended its invite-only period with the re-vamped platform opening to the public today.

One of the platform’s newer investors, Justin Timberlake, whose comback single Suit And Tie is currently No.1 on the iTunes UK chart, appears on the landing page of the site, which is hosting the track via streaming.

The site has a more streamlined design and maintains its focus on music.

Track Suit And Tie is taken from Timberlake’s forthcoming album, The 20/20 Experience.

Rival social network Facebook is set to make a big announcement at a press conference tonight with rumours hinting at a move into the smartphone market.
