Fleetwood Mac Announces 2013 Tour
Focused in North America, the Fleetwood Mac Live 2013 tour includes 34 cities such as New York, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia plus the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. It kicks off April 4, and tickets officially go on sale Dec. 14. The tour coincides with the 35th anniversary of the group’s 1977 classic Rumours, which is among the 10 biggest-selling albums in U.S. history, moving 19 million units and featuring with such hits as “Go Your Own Way,” “Don’t Stop,” “You Make Loving Fun” and “Dreams,” the band’s only No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Early next year, the record will be re-issued with unreleased studio and live tracks.
Fleetwood Mac has sold more than 48.5 millions albums in the U.S. since its formation in 1967. The band’s most recent album — done without longtime member Christine McVie, who retired from the group in 1998 — is 2003’s Say You Will.
The band — comprised of Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie — previously toured in 2009.
“After spending four days at Lindsey’s house working on music and one really fun day doing a crazy photo session, I am quite excited about next year,” Nicks said in a statement Tuesday. “Everything seems to be falling into place. 2013 looks like the year of Fleetwood Mac.”
