Blink-182 announce release date for ‘Dogs Eating Dogs’ EP
Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker recently said that the band have written a “very folky” new song. The track will feature on the EP.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, he laughed while explaining the track, saying: “I don’t even know. It’s way out. We all had some ideas. I went in the studio and I was just playing around. I had my electronic kit and I just played a straight drum pattern over it, and it sounded crazy. It changed the entire shape of the song.”
He added that the EP, which was recently recorded in Los Angeles, is a massive improvement on the band’s last album, ‘Neighborhoods’, which was laid down remotely.
Barker said: “To me already, this EP is a hundred times better than ‘Neighborhoods’, because we’re all in a room together. There’s some songs on there that I love, but for the most part it was disconnected.”
Earlier this year, Barker promised that “the best is yet to come” from the band. The trio released ‘Neighborhoods’ in 2011 and then parted ways with major label Interscope Records earlier this year.
