Lava Spills From 13 Records

1 min read

The veteran Southern California heavy metal group LAVA has risen again, and will release their classic 1993 album “Rise From The Pit” on 13 Records this fall. LAVA played the underground metal club scene in Los Angeles and the southland from 1988 to 1993, before disbanding and vanishing into rock history.
LAVA featured John Summers on vocals, Maniac Mike on Guitar, James Smith on Bass, and Jose Perez on Drums. Summers decided to take the original analog recordings and digitally remaster their popular album “Rise From The Pit” for a new generation. “The kids nowadays are rockin’ out on their iPods, iPhones, and iMacs” said Summers. “So I dug up our old masters and decided to share them with the world.”

LAVA opened for many emerging metal and hard rock acts in the late 80’s and early 90s such as Metal Church, Death Angel, Forbidden, and Exodus. The group was also featured on the defunct and legendary hard rock radio outlet KNAC formerly on 105.5 FM.

“Rise From The Pit” will go on sale worldwide via their label 13 Records and will be available on sites such as iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Spotify and hundreds of other online and mobile music stores.
