GEZA X AND PAUL ROESSLER PRODUCE DEMO FOR RISING NEWCOMER SARAH PETRELLA

Accomplished producers Geza X (Dead Kennedys, the Germs, South Park Chef Aid, Black Flag, Meredith Brooks, Redd Kross) and Paul Roessler (Nina Hagen, Josie Cotton, the Germs, Gene Loves Jezebel) have teamed up for the new outing by vocalist Sarah Petrella.
Engineered and produced by Geza X and Roessler at their Kitten Robot and CityLab Multimedia studios, the three songs include the originals “Summer,” “Time Stands Still” and a cover of Pearl Jam’s “Daughter.”

“A long-time friend played me Sarah’s demo and I found it so compelling that I had to talk to her,” explains Geza X. “Everything just fell in place after that. She started writing great songs. Ben Harper’s band stepped up for the recording session. My longtime engineer/co-producer Paul Roessler just finished building a new studio with my friend Josie Cotton. All the elements lined up like magic and kept raising the bar.”

“Geza is an incredible producer,” says Petrella. “It’s really been a great experience. It’s great to see how focused he gets when he’s working. I really am the same way, we just narrow in on very specific sounds. Really cool to watch him in those “lightbulb” moments when he comes up with an idea of interpreting part of the song.”

The songs will be completed in mid-September.
