Dead Can Dance to release first LP in 16 years via PIAS
PIAS Recordings has entered into a joint venture deal with Dead Can Dance to release the band’s first studio album in over 16 years.
The agreement will see the partners jointly release Anastasis across the world including the US, where it will be released by PIAS Recordings’ LA office.
Anastasis – the band’s 10th studio album, which follows 1996’s Spiritchaser – will be released on August 13 on CD, double LP and download with a limited edition package to be sold exclusively via the band’s website.
Dead Can Dance will support the album with their first live shows since their sold out 2005 tour, with a worldwide tour covering eight continents over an eight month period.
PIAS UK MD Peter Thompson said: “As their sold out world tour testifies, Dead Can Dance are a genuinely global act and PIAS, as a genuinely global company, are delighted to be working with this influential band on their new album.
“We have had fantastic reactions from all around the world and it’s with real delight that people look forward to the first album in 16 years from this legendary act.”
The band’s manager Richard Jones of Key Music Management added: “Dead Can Dance and Key Music Management are delighted to be working together with PIAS for the worldwide release of ‘Anastasis’ the band’s first studio album for 16 years.”
