Interview with Phil Ehart of Kansas


1. How is going the tour at the moment?

It’s going fine, thanks!

2. How did you decide to choose King’s X as a support group?

Their manager had been talking to us about the 2 bands playing together for quite some time. We were finally able to make it happen..

3. What kind of memories do you have from the KANSAS Collegiate Symphony Tour of Spring 2012?

The student players brought so much energy to each concert! They were really having a great time up there rockin’ out with KANSAS.

4. For the first time you include a VIP package at your shows. Could you give us more details about it?

KANSAS fans will have a chance to get special KANSAS merch, great seats, and a chance to meet the band. Details on our website.

5. How do you choose the songs for your live playlist?

We have certain number of songs that people expect us to do….Dust, Wayward Son, Point of Know Return, Hold On, etc. Then we get to add any other songs the we’d like to play.

6. Do you have plans for a new album or DVD?

No, we do not.

7. 2012 is the 35th Anniversary of the song ‘Dust in the Wind. How do you intend to celebrate it?

We have a commemorative Dust in the Wind book with details on our website. We will also have a special 1 of a kind “Dust 35th” Martin guitar that will be given away this fall. Details forthcoming.

8. Are there any favorite numbers from your old catalogue that you would like to play at your shows?

Song for America is always a favorite….The Wall…..

9. Would you like to comment on the use of holograms of dead artists at the shows? Did you hear about the TuPac hologram?

No….and no…..

10. Do you use social media for your promotion?

Yes! Facebook is a huge help to us and we put a lot of effort into connecting band info to our fans.
