Two great progressive bands strike back: MORROW’S MEMORY & THE SKYS


Lithuanian rock band The Skys was established on 10th of November, 1995. And since then it is the leading band in Lithuanian prog scene. The band had many solo gigs and participated in various festivals in Lithuania as well as abroad: Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Germany, USA, Poland, Austria etc.. Some of the bigger events were:

During its years of existence the band has released four albums: “Civilized” (1997), “Dreams” (1999), “Postmodern Game” (2004) and “Colours of the Desert” (2011). Many of The Skys songs were played on radio and TV. In 1996 song “One Saturday of The Spring” reached radio station “Laisvoji banga” charts where it kept its highest positions radio station “Laisvoji banga” charts where it kept its highest positions for almost two months (No. 1 in April Charts). In 1999 song “Virtual Reality” was filmed on National TV for music telecast “Muzikinis viesbutis”. As guests The Skys performed at “Buk Artistas” TV Show. In 2004 The Skys performed at Lithuanian Top 10 on National TV. “The Ancient Indian song” video was also shown on National TV. The Skys music received radio airplayon 100 radio stations across Europe, USA and Canada with interviews in Netherlands, UK and “album of the week” and Canada with interviews in Netherlands, UK and “album of the week” in Austria, A-listed in Norway.

In 2004 The Skys were awarded (out of 300 bands) as “Best International Band” at prestigious New York International Music Festival .In 2006 The Skys won Makato Artis of the Year Award (2nd place) In 2011 The Skys got 2nd prize award (out of 100 bands) at Rockowe Andrzejki, Poland. New album “Colors of The Desert” features:

The Album recorded in Mamas Studio (Vilnius, Lithuania) and Liscombe Park Studios (London, UK) famous for Uriah Heep and Asia recordings. Mixed by Steve Rispin (Tina Turner, Elton John, Asia, Tankard, etc).

 

 

 

Sophisticated rock forged with head-banging riffs, lyrics that speak to the masses and melodies that resonate in your soul. This depicts the elusive sound of Metro-Detroit’s up and coming band – Morrow’s Memory.

The band initiated as a musical void that needed to be filled. The journey started with bandmates Zach Novak (Drums) and Joe Wolford (Lead Guitar) seeking the finest musicians of greater Detroit. Over the (Lead Guitar) seeking the finest musicians of greater Detroit. Over the course of six months, contact with over thirty local musicians and nearly a dozen auditions, as of late September of 2009, the ideal lineup was complete. Additional members included Tony Fitchett (Lead Vocals), Brian Sasanas (Vocals and Guitar), Scott Sarnia (Bass), and Mike Fritz (Keyboard).

 

Throughout the search for musicians, the band began writing a diverse arrangement of songs. diverse arrangement of songs. With each new member, a unique element was added into the mold of the Morrow’s Memory sound. The resulting style has been described as mainstream hard rock with hints of alternative and progressive rock. Though their sound is unique, they easily fit the format of most radio stations that feature new rock.

 

“Morrow’s Memory” derives from the concept that the future will inevitably become the past. Their lyrics often revolve around inevitably become the past. Their lyrics often revolve around common life themes, providing a foundation for the listener to relate to the music. It’s real music, with real lyrics, written by real people. It’s as simple as that.

 

The band began performing live shows in 2010 in front of packed, enthusiastic audiences, often ending with the crowd repeatedly chanting for an encore. They have played all over Michigan with both local and national acts, and are currently seeking exposure both local and national acts, and are currently seeking exposure in other areas as well. They recently finished their debut album “Moving Forward” (recorded at Minx Recording Studio in
