The Vim Dicta ~ ‘Retro Classic Rock’
THE VIM DICTA is a unique performance band comprising just two guitar/vocalists and a drummer… Matt Tunney (19/lead guitar/vocals) & Cori Elliott (20/lead vocals/rhythm guitar) started writing songs together in October 2010. They added David Halicky (24/drums) in January 2011.
Their tight n’ fresh rock sound conjures visions of the great, heady days when it was all about the raw live sound of a hot young band playing soulful English blues gone psychedelic and beyond. Their varied influences, from The Mars Volta, The Dead Weather, The Doors, The Black Keys, Led Zeppelin and Santana, creates some major WOW-factor that turns heads wherever they play… They are charismatic,”easy on the eyes”, terrific musicians and totally exciting!!
The growing word of mouth keeps them busy in LA hipster joints like The Satellite, The Airliner and Lot 1; plus local bookers who have placed them in Sunset Strip and Hollywood stalwarts like House of Blues, The Viper Room, On the Rox. They recently played two showcases during SXSW 2012, one as guests of Live Nation. In the Summer of 2011, they played at the Open Borders Festival supporting emerging act, White Arrows.
Their critically acclaimed self-titled EP was released in March, 2012 and have a full CD due in early Summer. All recorded tracks are 100% LIVE in the studio, so what you hear is what you can expect at show!
The band is being developed by Just Great Management’s Dan Nash, a veteran of AtlanticRecords and A&M Records, and co-managed with Azoff Management’s Glen Parrish, both of whom have worked with critically acclaimed emerging artists as well as superstar artists for over25 years.
