BMG Chrysalis lands James back catalogue


Manchester rock band James have signed a publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis UK covering their back catalogue.

The group, fronted by Tim Booth, are best known for their 1991 hit Sit Down which reached number two in the UK singles chart, but scored more than 20 hit singles in total between 1990 and 2001, including Sound, She’s A Star and Laid. They were also behind a series of hit albums, among them the studio sets Gold Mother, Seven and Millionaires, all of which peaked at number two in the UK, and they reached number one in 1998 with The Best Of.

BMG Chrysalis UK VP of A&R Ben Bodie said: “This is an outstanding catalogue of songs and we are delighted that James have entrusted their catalogue to BMG Chrysalis.”
