3 min read

Greg Kihn is proud to announce the release of a three-disc, all digital anthology box set, entitled Kihnplete (Post Beserkley Records).  Kihnplete is a fascinating retrospective of Greg Kihn’s vast body of work from the post Beserkley Records era, 1985 to the present.

Existing diehard and new fans will want this compilation as an essential addition for any classic rock music collection.  Kihnplete features multiple versions of some of Greg’s best known songs, with varied musical personnel, as well as songs that have been out of print for years, cool live recordings that have never seen the light of day and some songs from Greg’s two solo acoustic CD’s recorded in his hometown of Baltimore in the early 90’s.

Disc One features 17 studio recordings, including Jeopardy and The Break Up Song, both of which are rerecorded and remastered, as well as Love and Rock & Roll, Little Red Book, and Another Girl/Another Planet.  Disc Two features 14 acoustic tracks, including I Don’t Know What to Believe In, Anastasia, and Thunder Road.  Disc Three is 15 searing live tracks, including Greg’s biggest hits, as well as Lucky, Reunited, Happy Man, Testify and more.

Fans will relish the treasure trove of musical surprises from the incredible musicianship on all tracks.  What most Rock Fans don’t know is Greg Kihn recorded and performed with some of the best musicians over his illustrious 35-year career.  Before breaking big with his own solo career, Joe Satriani was the Greg Kihn Band’s lead guitarist during the Post Beserkley Records era 1985 to 1987.  Fans of Satch, as he’s affectionately referred to, will find eleven incredibly rare, hard-to-find studio and live tracks featuring the guitar prodigy.

Other musicians appearing throughoutthe 46 tracks that comprise Kihnplete (Post Beserkley Records) include Eddie Money/Tina Turner guitarist; Jimmy Lyon, Phil Spector saxophone legend: Steve “Teenage” Douglas, and Jerry Garcia Band/Craig Chaquico keyboardist; Ozzie Ahlers.  Greg Kihn Band members include Jefferson Starship/The Who keyboardist; Tim Gorman. guitarist; Greg Douglass (Steve Miller Band), bassist; Steve Wright, drummers; Dave Danza (Eddie Money), and Doug Carlson, as well as Greg’s son, guitarist extraordinaire; Ry Kihn.

“The road to Rock and Roll Heaven is paved with the bleached skulls of guys like me,” states Greg.  But Greg’s skull is far from a memorialized cobblestone randomly placed somewhere along the many miles of Rock and Roll Heaven Road.  Greg Kihn, whose brain is very active in that skull of his, survives and thrives as the San Francisco Bay Area’s #1 FM reigning Radio Morning Man, exceeding 16-years on Classic Rock KFOX 102.1 San Francisco/98.5 San Jose – the fourth largest radio market in America. He’s also a prolific novelist, and consistent concert draw who attracts tens of thousands of fans from all over the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Greg has a screenplay in development for a new cable series about how the mafia ran the music industry in New York City during the early 1960’s, described as a cross between “The Sopranos-Meets Almost Famous.”  Entitled “45 RPM,” the program could be on a major cable network in late 2012.
