Ice-T Reunites Body Count for ‘Gears of War 3’ Videogame
The E3 videogame conference is not necessarily the first place you’d typically look to for breaking about hip-hop or heavy metal. Yet actor/rapper Ice-T, an avid gamer, used the event to announce the reformation of his heavy-metal project Body Count.
The MC announced the news yesterday during the Microsoft press conference, in association with the upcoming game “Gears of War 3.” According to details shared with Billboard, Ice-T wanted to be involved in the third installment of the popular first-person shooter franchise, and struck a deal with Epic Games to voice a character in the upcoming title.
The developers then approached him to provide a song. Ice-T wanted to go more hard-core metal, and subsequently reformed Body Count for the express purpose of recording a song for the game’s multiplayer Horde Mode, which will also be used in the trailers for the game.
Body Count will be performing at the Epic Games’ party tonight during the conference.
