PROG VETS NEKTAR – BRAINTICKET – HUW LLOYD LANGTON TO TOUR AMERICA
Trio of space rock vets hit the United States – and for one, it’s the first time ever.
Los Angeles – Three of the bands that helped shape progressive and “space” rock will be hitting the road in America this summer. This will be Nektar’s first tour in the United States in decades. For Brainticket, it’s their first time ever playing America.
Brainticket is credited with being at the heart of the Krautrock (a generic name for the late Sixties experimental music scene in Germany) movement. The band formed in 1968, releasing their last album in 2000.
Nektar was formed in Germany in 1969 by five Englishmen. The group reached the Billboard Singles charts in the Seventies with their song “Astral Man.” Nektar has continued to record and play live since then,
Huw Lloyd-Langton rose to fame as the guitarist and co-founder for English prog/space rock masters Hawkwind. He also played briefly for Widowmaker in the 70s. He is currently doing support gigs for Hawkwind in England.
All three bands plan special releases on Cleopatra Records this summer, and will be adding dates to the itinerary listed below.
