Desmond Child moves to Universal

Universal Music Publishing Group has signed a worldwide co-publishing deal with Desmond Child.

Over his career, the songwriter and producer has worked on hits including Livin’ on a Prayer, Bad Medicine, You Give Love a Bad Name and Livin’ La Vida Loca. The deal finds Child moving away from his previous home at Kobalt.

“I’ve known Desmond for many years and his work ethic, passion, and ability to continue to write worldwide hits will be a magical addition for all here,” says UMPG East Coast executive vice president Evan Lamberg.

UMPG chairman/ CEO David Renzer adds, “We are thrilled to be reunited with Desmond, who continues to be one of the most talented and prolific songwriters working today. We look forward to working closely with him and adding to his catalogue of hits.”
