Cherry Lane Music Publishing Signs A Multi-Year Worldwide Administration Deal With Johnny Winter

Cherry Lane Music Publishing (part of BMG), home to writer/artists including will I am, John Legend, Warren Haynes, and the catalogs of Elvis Presley, John Denver and T-Bone-Walker, has signed a multi-year worldwide administration deal with legendary Texas bluesman Johnny Winter. The deal covers songs written or co-written by Winter, including “Dallas,” “Guess I’ll Go Away,” “Hustled Down in Texas,” and “Mean Town Blues.”

Ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time,” Winter has been enjoying an unparalleled resurgence in popularity, performing to sold out shows worldwide on his current international tour. In addition, Winter has been headlining such prestigious events as Eric Clapton’s Emmy award winning Crossroads Festival, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Chicago Blues Festival, Swedish Rock Fest, Warren Haynes X-mas jam and Europe’s Rockpalast, just to name a few. His recent Grammy nominated “I’m A Bluesman” disc on Virgin/EMI, has only added to his Texas-sized reputation. Joining him on this CD are guitarist Paul Nelson, bassist Scott Spray, 2 members of his current scorching road-tested touring band also consisting of drummer Vito Liuzzi.
