1. A friend of mine is <<crazy>> about you. He loves your music and he told me to do this interview. For me, that I don’t know anything about you , tell me a few words about the WOLVERINE.

Cool! Please thank your friend for his support! Wolverine is a melodic/progressive metal band from Sweden that has existed since 1995. We have released two albums so far and  we are currently writing music for the next release.

2. Where do you come from?

We are from Sweden.

3. How many months is in the stores the second cd of WOLVERINE?

“The Window Purpose” has been out since January this year. It was first released in December of 2001 but we then discovered that it was misprinted so we released a new pressing in January 2002. The response has been overwhelming!

4. Before a week I bought both the cd’s and I listen them. I like very much the song “Leaving yesterday”. Also I like all of them because there aren’t all vocals <<hard>> and also I like the music. Now tell me about that, why you do this? I mean the different type of vocals?

We first started out as a death-metal band and over the years the music has developed and the only element from that time that we still have left are the additional “grunts” that we use from time to time. They are not very dominant in our music since we use them more like an effect.

5. Have you ever been to Greece?

No, we have never been to Greece but we would sure love to. There was talk about some gigs last year but as with most things in this business nothing became reality.

6.Your favorite groups?

Queensryche, Fates Warning, Kiss, Bee Gees, A-ha, Alphaville, Whitesnake, Europe, Saviour Machine, Marc Anthony and many more. I’d like to listen to different types of music but important to me are great melodies and singers.

7. Do you know Rotting Christ, Septic Flesh, On Thorns I Lay and Nightfall? Are all bands from Greece. Have you heard anyone of them? If you know or heard tell me your opinion.

The only band I know about is On Thorns I Lay. I actually has one of their CD’s but I think I sold it a while ago. At the time I found it interesting but in the long run I simply got bored of the music. They did however have some part that was really, really good. All in all it’s not really the type of music I listen to.

8. Have you got plans for a gig in Greece?

Unfortunately not but we would not hesitate to go if we got a good offer. I suggest that those of you that would like to see and hear us live go talk to festivals and/or clubs in your area and convince them to bring us there.

9.  When are we going to have your new CD?

No plans are made at all about the release of the next album. We have just started writing new material so it’s way too early to say anything. If I would get it my way it would be out this fall or early next year.

10. Tell me some things about the Swedish scene.

I think Sweden is really rich on bands but unfortunately I don’t think that the audience is that big, at least not for our kind of music. Almost every time you hear of a Swedish band they are much bigger in let’s say The Netherlands or Germany than they are in Sweden. My favorite Swedish bands would be Veni Domine and Pain of Salvation.

11. At last, tell everything you want for the Greek fans of WOLVERINE

I hope you will get hold of a copy of “The Window Purpose” and that you like it. The band hopes to play in your country some day. Take care and please visit our website: www.wolverine-overdose.com
