Lately I was aware of a new glam rock artist’s review from a mainstream European music magazine. There’s no need to mention the artist, otherwise this text is going to be just a non paid artist’s ad. The review was all about critisism and fun with no logical criteria related to the music and lifestyle that Glam Rock gathers..

The fact that some people are unable to react in something fresh & new with logical criteria instead of fun & critisism, doesn’t mean that we definetely agree with them. There are people out there who think that Glam rock stopped in POISON and MOTLEY CRUE but noone told them that today Bret Michael’s glam figure includes hair extensions, tons of make up in order to look young in VH1 Series, etc. Noone told the that Glam rock was always about party atmosphere and that doesn’t exclude music loops..Everybody now in the dance scene uses loops or is anyone out there that doesn’t admit as Glam rock is a part of dance culture? Just replace the guitar tunes with dancin’drum beats (God Bless “Fruity Loops Software ! ) at Poison’s “Talk Dirty To Me”and present it at a 17th old girl that doesn’t know Poison. I’m sure that she might think that now she is lishening a latest dance maxi single and not a dinosaur artist that composed a mega hit 25 years ago!

Glam rock needs progression in order to survive and this means that rock music is going to be accompanied by new music trends as a musical background. In the same way that heavy metal didn’t remain a distorted bass riff of Black Sabbath, so Glam Rock has to progress…
