Singer/Songwriter Brent Byrd, ‘Peaceful Rebel Man’ On The Move
Performer Brent Byrd, aptly titled ‘the peaceful rebel man’ is on the move with the release of his 2011 CD release ‘Time To Start Livin’ ‘.
Recently returned from a highly successful Southeast/Midwestern tour in support of his new CD release, Brent Byrd is quickly becoming known as an explosive live performer. In order to fully express himself as a solo artist, he incorporates loops and multiple instruments to create powerful acoustic jams. Brent has been compared to artists like Jack Johnson, Donavan Frankenreiter, John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne and vocal similarity to the great Joe Cocker.
“My foundation is always Bob Marley, Hendrix, Van Morrison and many artists from that era,” says Brent, “there was so much soul and passion in the lyrics and vocals. Although I have been listening to more current music lately, which is opening me up more as a singer/songwriter.”
Brent Byrd has gone many miles in his relatively short life towards becoming the musician he is growing into. Influenced heavily by artists from the past, Brent is walking in their footsteps towards trying to change the world’s view through song. From his ‘beachy’ songs with underlining political satire to his direct lyrical punches, Brent’s view hits you in a way that makes you want to be a better person and stand up for what you believe.
“I’ve traveled and lived in many different cities, had many jobs working 12-hour days and many experiences good and bad,” says Brent. “I’ve been trying to fit into the ‘real’ world and have finally realized…I am a musician and that’s what I need to be doing. So for me it’s ‘time to start livin’”
“Brent Byrd is unapologetically positive. His CD is a soundtrack well-suited for a sun-soaked summer day – windows down and grooving.” – Rachel Bardin, Drift Magazine
Over the years Brent has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many musicians which include Jason Mraz, Shawn Mullins, Uncle Tupelo, Thomas Ian Nichols (American Pie movies), Velvet Revolver, Shinedown, Papa Roach and My Chemical Romance at Buzzfeat XIV while touring with the band SuperDeluxe and Steve Ewing from The Urge as well as many other artists. “I hope to be touring the US and Europe full time next year and working on another album, which I feel can only get better,” says Brent. “I am constantly evolving as a musician and working so hard to improve my songs and live performance.”
Along with the release of ‘Time To Start Livin’ ‘, and booking the ‘Flying Southwest’ tour which will start late September, Brent has just completed a new video to be released on August 15, 2011. “The song is called ‘Hold On To Me’, the third track on the CD,” Brent explains. “It is a personal song to me and the things that were going on in my life at the time, so I met up with Steve Janowicz at Palm Tree Studios and we thought this song would be great for a video. We filmed it in St. Augustine and had some friends as extras…it was a lot of fun. It does show a softer side of me which is something I am slowly coming to terms with.”
Brent Byrd ‘Time To Start Livin’ ‘ CD is available through iTunes, Amazon MP3 and distributed through Tune Core.
