HAUNTED BY HEROES PLAY THREE GIGS IN APRIL
Band formerly known as the Thrashers hit two benefit shows and the Whisky in Los Angeles

Bay Area kid band the Thrashers have changed their name to Haunted by Heroes, and are gearing up for a month of weekend shows up and down the California coast.

The band decided on the name change as a tip-of-the-hat to their musical predecessors. “We love Hendrix, the Beatles, the Who – and we also listen to AC/DC, Slipknot and Tool,” explained lead singer/bassist Nick Hero, adding, “We think of these bands as our heroes, and people always say we play like we’re haunted….”

2011 has been a busy year for the young rockers, who were recently endorsed by New York-based apparel manufacturer Scarce; played the International Children’s Fund Gala at the Nokia Theater in L.A.; gigged to save KUSF and shared the stage with Gilby Clarke, Ronnie Montrose and others at the 7th annual Guitar Player’s Ball at the Galaxy Theater as part of the NAMM event, where Braingell Radio noted, “their music straddled a fine-line of Judas Priest heaviness and Def Leppard pop.”

On Saturday, April 16th at 5:30 pm, HxH will be playing the South Bay Annual Autism Resource Fair at the Wings Learning Center at Notre Dame de Namur University at 1500 Ralston Ave in Belmont, CA. Admission is $10

HxH will play another benefit show the following Saturday, April 23rd at the Civic Center Plaza in downtown San Francisco as part of the city’s Earth Day commemoration. The group will be playing on the Ocean Stage. This is a free public event.

Finally, Haunted by Heroes will wind up April with an early show at the world famous Whisky A Go-Go nightclub on Saturday April 30th at 7:30 pm.
