Los Angeles’ Professor and the Madman are ready to build upon positive advance notice for this month’s debut album, Disintegrate Me, with the announcement of five Southern California concert dates. The group will be taking the stage at The Viper Room in Hollywood (Feb. 22), Alex’s Bar in Long Beach (Feb. 23), The Anchor Bar in Costa Mesa (Feb. 24), The Redwood Bar & Grill in Los Angeles (March 8) and House of Blues (side room) in Anaheim (March 17). Disintegrate Me is released on vinyl, CD and download on February 23 via FullerTone Records/Alliance Distribution.

Last month Classic Rock Magazine handpicked Professor and the Madman as one of “Five Awesome Bands to Watch in 2018” and described Disintegrate Me as “an infectious cocktail of power-pop/rock, ‘60s British Invasion and melodic psychedelia. It’s rich, quality stuff.” Stateside, Alternative Press offered “The nine tracks are a mix of different styles showing a remarkable amount of creative vision. Much of the record hits a melodic punk/Britpop sweet spot that harkens back to The Damned’s 1980 masterpiece, The Black Album, and the best parts of Oasis’ catalog.”

The band’s lineup for the L.A. live shows includes co-frontmen Alfie Agnew (Adolescents, D.I.) and Sean Elliott (D.I., Mind Over Four) backed by bassist Frank Agnew (Social Distortion, Adolescents, Legal Weapon, T.S.O.L., 45 Grave), guitarist Mark Tolbert and drummer Nick Scalzo. All are veterans of the highly-influential Orange County punk scene.

The recording lineup for Disintegrate Me is a totally different beast. Alfie and Sean are backed on the album by the legendary rhythm section from The Damned’s The Black Album (1980) and Strawberries (1982), Rat Scabies (founding member of The Damned) and Paul Gray (current bassist in The Damned; ex-Eddie & the Hot Rods, Johnny Thunders, UFO). Due to the fact that Scabies and Gray reside in the UK, and Gray is currently on tour with the Damned, the pair will not take part in these album launch gigs. Disintegrate Me is co-produced by the band and David M. Allen (The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, the Damned).
