Joe Keithley (D.O.A) To Be Inducted Into Vancouver’s Hall Of Fame

Joe Keithley, leader of D.O.A., Canada’s most legendary punk band has been inducted into Vancouver’s Hall of Fame and has received his own star on Vancouver’s historic Granville Street. It is a tradition in Vancouver, perhaps Canada’s most creative town, to acknowledge one of their own so on Thursday November 17th at 5 PM, Vancouver will pause to recognize Keithley aka Joey Shithead, Canada’s godfather of punk.

Keithley and his band D.O.A. are widely recognized around the world for epic live shows, their 17 studio albums and as the godfathers of “hardcore”. D.O.A. started out in 1978 and has since made their mark by traveling the world and playing over 3,000 shows on five different continents.

Also known for being one of Canada’s leading activists for human rights, Keithley has spoken out for, played benefit shows and raised money for just causes like women’s rights, worker’s rights and he has stood against racism, sexism and war.

Please join us on Thursday November 27th at 5 PM at 870 Granville St. Keithley will inducted into Vancouver’s Hall of Fame and his star on Granville Street officially unveiled. After the shorts speeches by H.O.F. officials, Aaron Chapman (Vancouver’s “real” historian) and Keithley himself, there will be a very unofficial celebration held inside the Bottleneck Pub (870 Granville) with lots of stories, talk and of course lots of D.O.A. hyper punk tracks.

Like Joe says:
Effect positive change
Think for yourself
TALK – ACTION = 0
Talk – Action = 0
