Marcia Kreutzmann Writes Memoir About Grateful Dead’s Final Concerts

Marcia Kreutzmann, sibling to The Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzmann, releases her first memoir entitled “Your Beautiful Hair is in My Beer” about her adventure and pilgrimage to the last Grateful Dead shows in Chicago. The Grateful Dead needs no formal introduction to a worldwide audience since the band’s 50 year tenor has made The Grateful Dead an international household name. In 2015, twenty years after the passing of Jerry Garcia, and 50 years after the band began its long strange trip, The Grateful Dead announced they will perform a small series of stadium shows to both; commemorate and officially retire The Grateful Dead as an operational touring band.

Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh, Bobby Weir and temporary member, Trey Anastasio have millions of fans worldwide, however friends and family often get an invitation to go to one or more shows, compliments of the band. When Marcia Kreutzmann was invited to the last 3 shows in Chicago’s Soldier Field Stadium she packed up for another adventure to see her brother and the legendary Grateful Dead perform their “Fare Thee Well” shows.

Marcia Kreutzmann wrote about her pilgrimage in Chicago as an informal adventure story and memoir that was unearthed and formally published by California Folk Rock Singer, Luca Montana.

Luca Montana, in a recent interview stated “It was just sheer fate that I met Marcia Kreutzmann about a year prior to the Fare Thee Well tour and after she had gotten back from the tour I inquired if she had any memoirs just out of my own personal curiosity. It’s always fascinating to hear stories from family members and friends of public figures and Marcia stated that she just wrote a memoir about her trip to Chicago. I asked if she could share her memoir with me and offered my services to professionally publish the memoir. Upon getting approval I joint ventured with two of the best concert photographers in the world, Jay Blakesberg and David Oppenheimer as well as one more joint venture with the worlds most acclaimed ‘Psychedelic Artist’, Jeff Hopp to design and publish the memoir. No doubt that Marcia’s 20 page memoir entitled ‘Your Beautiful Hair is in my Beer’ will memorialize The Fare The Well tour for the ages.”
