iTunes to offer exclusive Beatles’ tracks
iTunes is to sell two exclusive Beatles tracks when the band’s Love album debuts on the store later this month.
The album, which goes on sale on February 8, will include previously-unreleased versions of The Fool On The Hill and Girl – taken from the Love theatrical production.
Love comes as an iTunes LP, featuring an art gallery that blends images of the Beatles with photos from the stage production. Customers will also be able to buy individual songs from Love.
iTunes will also offer All Together Now, the feature-length documentary about the making of Love by Cirque du Soleil. It will be offered with iTunes Extras, including three bonus features and a trailer for the Love stage production.
This is not, however, the first exclusive Beatles content on iTunes. On November 16 The Beatles’ 13 remastered studio albums, the Past Masters compilation and the 1962-1966 (Red) and 1967-1970 (Blue) collections were released on iTunes worldwide.
On the same day, a digital Beatles Box Set was released on iTunes featuring the iTunes exclusive Live at the Washington Coliseum, 1964 concert film, capturing the band’s first U.S. concert.
More than 5m tracks and 1m albums by The Beatles have been downloaded since being made available on iTunes.
