Deicide – To Hell With God (Century Media)
The unholy ritual of Mr. Glen Benton is back on duties and the new album is a repeat of the crime against organized religion as long as the band is enjoying it. The controversial issues are obvious when you read the album title or the black humor of the first track “To Hell With God” that is a spiritual revenge to Stryper’s “To Hell With Devil” song. Regarding the musical elements, the guitars are still in the best death metal level while the voice of Glen’s scares the sh.t out of every normal band around. Exactly, Deicide is not normal and belongs to the paranormal side of the extreme music regardless of the years that have passed. If you are looking for new elements in the new album of Deicide then you are wrong, you’d better admit that these guys will never progress in the sound and they express a minimal way to show the raw side of sound. The music of Deicide is brutal but on the other side, is sinfully technical and there is no way to not mention that because it is true and make them stand out from most of death metal bands.
