Gary Glitter
has appeared in court to face charges relating to 10 sex offences against three young girls.The former pop star appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London to deny all of the alleged offences, reports the BBC. The 70-year-old is currently on bail. Glitter is accused of four counts of indecent assault involving one complainant between 31 January and 31 May 1977. The complainant was aged 12 or 13 at the time. The former pop star is also accused of “administering a drug or other thing in order to facilitate sexual intercourse” and one count of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 between the same dates.

The charges also include counts of indecent assault between October 1979 and December 1980 made by an additional complainant, who was 13-14 in during that period.

Glitter is accused of plying alcohol to “stupefy or overpower” one of the alleged victims.

Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was convicted in 1999 of possession of child pornography and served four months in prison. After his release he relocated to Vietnam, where he was subsequently convicted of a string of child sexual abuse offences.
