KATATONIA MEMBERS DISCUSS NEW ALBUM “DETHRONED & UNCROWNED” IN VIDEO INTERVIEW
Swedish master of dark rock, Katatonia, has posted a new video online in which founding members Jonas Renkse (vocals) and Anders Nyström (guitar/vocals) discuss the band’s recently released album Dethroned & Uncrowned. Dethroned & Uncrowned, a reinterpretation of Dead End Kings, the band’s heralded 2012 release on Peaceville Records, is out now on Kscope. The new record explores the more ambient and progressive elements of Dead End Kings, while remaining truthful to the core of the album’s songs.

To coincide with the release of Dethroned & Uncrowned, Katatonia will embark on a co-headlining North American tour, “Uncrowned & Vertikal Tour,” with Cult of Luna plus special guests Intronaut and TesseracT, beginning September 23 in Boston, Mass. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now.
Commented vocalist Jonas Renkse, “Dear North Americans! We are happy to announce yet another co-headline tour in support of Dead End Kings, this time with fellow Swedes Cult of Luna plus support from Intronaut (US) and TesseracT (UK)!
“Since we have been touring your continent quite a bit the last few years, we thought it was about time to re-decorate the good ol’ setlist a little. Right now we are rehearsing and going through some of our hidden gems, songs that we haven’t yet picked up or rarely have played live before. It will probably be as exciting for you as it is for us!
“Please note that it won’t be an ‘old-school’ party, but an evening with atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a knife! Oh, and we will probably have time to play some of the ‘hits’ as well. All in all, we will squeeze out as much Katatonia as possible each and every night, so let’s do this one together once again, shall we?”
Katatonia last toured North America in spring 2013 in support of the band’s 2012 release, Dead End Kings. The album was the band’s most successful to date and cemented the Swede’s position as the master of darkened metal. Dead End Kings was released on Peaceville, Katatonia’s home for the past 14 years.
