Jacqueline Saturn Named Co-General Manager Of Harvest Records
Jacqueline Saturn has been named Co-General Manager, Harvest Records, it was announced by Capitol Music Group Executive Vice President Michelle Jubelirer, to whom Saturn will report. In her new position, Saturn will work side-by-side with co-GM Piero Giramonti as they pursue an independent-label approach for the label; signing a select group of innovative artists and helping them achieve success, while empowering them with the freedom to pursue their artistic visions. Saturn is relocating from New York, and will be based in Hollywood, California at the iconic Capitol Records Tower.
Harvest provides dedicated A&R and marketing resources for its artists and integrates its efforts with those of the newly expanded Caroline, which primarily provides commercial support, radio promotion and licensing resources for the label. Saturn’s arrival at Harvest and the Capitol Music Group also reunites her with CMG Chairman & CEO, Steve Barnett; the two having worked together for nine years at Epic, teaming to break a host of artists – from Modest Mouse to Franz Ferdinand – during that time. According to Barnett, “I am absolutely thrilled that Jacqueline is coming to Hollywood and teaming with Piero to run Harvest. Countless artists have benefited from Jacqueline’s hard work and expertise, and her incredible skills as an executive and passion for music will serve our artists well for many years to come.”
Michelle Jubelirer commented, “Jacqueline’s roots in the alternative and indie worlds run deep and to the very beginning of her career. Her extensive experience as one of the top promotion executives in the business makes her the perfect complement to Piero Giramonti in the running of Harvest. Jacqueline will be instrumental in building the label and providing a supportive home to original, cutting-edge artists. All of us are psyched to have her as a member of the Capitol Music Group family.”
Saturn said, “Steve Barnett has been a great friend and mentor to me over the years, and, working together, we were always dedicated to artist development. His approach to creating plans based on each artist’s unique appeal remains a huge influence on me. Very few people could convince me to move across the country, but I didn’t hesitate for a second when Steve asked. I want to thank him, as well as Michelle Jubelirer, Piero Giramonti and the entire CMG family, for this great opportunity and warm welcome. I am truly excited about reuniting with Piero as well, and can’t wait to achieve great things with him for Harvest and our artists.”
Giramonti added, “I am absolutely confident that we have taken a major step forward in our mission at Harvest with Jacqueline joining the label as my partner. I am so excited to be reunited with one of the best and most professional artist development executives I’ve ever worked with.”
Prior to leading Harvest, Saturn was Senior Vice President of Promotion at Epic Records, a position she held since 2007. Previously, she had been the label’s Senior VP of Rock and Alternative Promotion since 2005. Prior to that, Saturn was VP of Alternative Radio Promotion since 1998. She first joined Epic Records in 1993 as an assistant in the Promotion department. During her 20 years at Epic, Saturn was instrumental in the success of a diverse array of artists, including Pearl Jam, Oasis, Rage Against The Machine, Sara Bareilles, Incubus, Korn, Audioslave, The Fray, Modest Mouse, The Script and Fiona Apple.
