DESU TAEM – Flat Out

It opens with hard rock guitars that immediately establish its bright, slightly retro character. While the sound quality hints at its AI origins, the production isn’t perfect, particularly at higher frequencies. Nevertheless, the riffs are powerful and energetic, making the opening of the track engaging. The entrance of the vocals with a harder tone gives the song a sense of challenge. There are traces of early 2000s American hard rock, particularly Nickelback, and Metallica from the same period. While it doesn’t directly imitate either band, it draws from similar hard rock influences in a simpler, more compact way. At around two minutes and forty-five seconds, its short duration gives the track a punk-like feeling of spontaneity, though musically it remains rooted in hard rock. At around the one-minute twenty-five-second mark, the percussion becomes stronger and the bass gains considerably more power, giving the track additional depth and making the rhythm section feel more physical. Despite the high-frequency nature of the AI-generated sound, ‘Flat Out’ develops a distinctive character. The flaws are audible, but they don’t erase the human feeling. Then, at around the 2:08 mark, the song becomes more aggressive, putting greater emphasis on the chorus and pushing the final stretch forward with enough force to make it hard to sit still.
