ALEXATOR – Through the Fire

Starting with the cooler guitar textures mixed with complex synth work, it’s not hard to quickly notice the EDM elements combining with hard-rock guitars, a sound that harks me back to the roots of the new millennium, when rock and metal guitars crossed over into the techno and dance scene. It’s very beat driven here, with electronics clearly providing the pulse, guitars giving the grit, and the result is a driving energetic sound without being too hard for the dance floor. The guitar solos work in this song as they are able to follow the rhythm instead of just over complicate the electronic section of the song. The synths sound like they come from some other futuristic world, but at the same time, keep a dancing beat that drives the song down the line. I find the feeling of ‘raw guitar’ and “dance revolution’ quite exciting, especially for those that lived in the time when electronic and rock music worked together. The resulting mix isn’t super professional, and the quality of sound isn’t perfect, but you can hear the core concept. And that is, of course, the simple tune that knows precisely what it wants to be: a constant groove, guitar melodies, and enough sci-fi FX to jump up and down to. So, if you want something to dance to and want the guitar to really go crazy, here’s a great starting point.
