BMG Concludes Acquisition Of Virgin Music And Famous UK Music Publishing Copyrights

Music rights management company BMG has announced it has concluded the acquisition from Sony/ATV Music Publishing and EMI Music Publishing of a series of prestigious music publishing catalogs, including worldwide rights in the Virgin Music publishing companies, Famous UK Music Publishing and selected current songwriters.

The copyrights concerned include iconic songs by the likes of Kurt Cobain, Tears for Fears, Iggy Pop, Duffy, Mark Ronson, The Human League, Terence Trent D’Arby and The Kooks.

The acquisition � first announced 21 December 2012 has now been fully approved by the European Commission.

Earlier this month, BMG announced the closure of its acquisition of the Mute and Sanctuary catalogues of recordings.
