Telperion – Brotherhood
Telperion’s epic folk metal song “Brotherhood” seems to have emerged straight out of a magical quest. The song is a part of Chapter I: Astral Exodus, a larger concept album that takes place in an original fantasy world where a group of explorers must flee their cursed world and travel into the unknown. A fairytale-like atmosphere is created by the song’s opening loud metal guitars and majestic orchestral sounds. Heavy guitars, orchestration, and the flute that enters at 1:30 enhance the composition’s fantasy atmosphere when vocals come in. The music becomes a feast for the mind when paired with the fantasy-focused visual, encouraging the listener to join its made-up universe. Another standout moment is the guitar solo at 2:42, which features precise and technically exceptional playing with obvious Eddie Van Halen influences. It gives you a chance to lose yourself in the story before the vocals return and lead the music to its conclusion. “Brotherhood” combines power metal rage with folk and symphonic elements, resulting in a cinematic soundtrack that is both innovative and melodic.
